Winner | Fly Your Ideas Competition (Airbus-UNESCO); € 30,000

Was one of five student engineers who collaborated on the winning project, Multifun, a hybrid battery-piezoelectric composite structure that was developed as a standard for next-generation aircraft design. I was a part of a virtually connected team of Indian aerospace engineers, based in USA, India, UK and The Netherlands. I was the only student from an American university to be represented in the final round of the competition.

Winner | Airbus Innovation Showdown 2016

Winning title for the Airbus Innovation Showdown Challenge 2016 where numerous teams from different parts of the United States competed with breakthrough and disruptive ideas. The Georgia Tech. team's idea is chosen to be the winning idea over successive rounds of grilling namely brainstorming, feasibility and finally with detailed proposal of a business case. The idea was termed as "thought through" & "very well presented" by the jury.

Was Invited for a TV Talk with Cmdr. Astronaut Chris Hadfield on "The Stream" Show

The Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield joined by 3 students for a discussion in The Stream show on Al Jazeera English TV channel. I was among on of the three students to participate in the discussion. In the show, Chris Hadfield shed light on what it's like to live on the International Space Station and record a music album while weightless. He also discussed a NASA spacecraft's historic flyby of Pluto, the farthest "so called planet"​ from us apart from answering our questions.

Dutch Aerospace Award 2015

Dutch Aerospace Award 2015 for the Best University Project of Aerospace Engineering. The award was received by team member "Sathiskumar A. Ponnusami, Doctoral Student, TU Delft" on behalf of our team MultiFun. The project presented as the key part of the Award is titled 'MultiFun - A Multifunctional Composite Material System for Aircraft Structures'.

Team MultiFun was recognized and awarded as Best Startup of the Year 2015, beating four other startup finalists: Orange Fiber SRL, Penn Textile Solutions GmbH, ViDi Systems and Wearable Life Science GmbH.
